Michelle from My Gluten-Free Kitchen has a knack of finding the best gluten-free bakeries regardless of what city she is in. I’ve now traveled to several cities with her, and she’s definitely in charge of navigation and cupcake-finding on any future getaway. During Mom 2.0, we snuck off and visited some gluten-free bakeries in SoCal!
First, we went to Cloud 9 Bakers in San Juan Capistrano. There were so many dairy-free options too! While this place didn’t have the most items, they were probably some of the best we’ve had in a long time – especially the cookie (that was the size of my head).
We then went to
Sensitive Sweets in San Clemente. It’s a dedicated top-8 free bakery. While Michelle didn’t care for these items, I’m used to top-8 free items and their…hmmm how do I put it kindly – consistency.
On the road to Pasadena from Dana Point, we visited
The Good Cookies & Beyond in Torrance, CA. This was my personal favorite stop because the owners are so damn adorable and as you walked in there was not one, but two copies of Gluten Free & More magazine. Clearly I needed a selfie, or five.
The peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were incredible! I bought a box of those and the almond butter chocolate chip cookies too. Apparently you can buy them at local grocery stores, but it would be awesome to have them nationwide!
The last place we visited before heading to Pasadena was
Kirari West in Redondo Beach, CA. Their rice-based gluten-free products were incredible, at least that’s what Michelle said. Most of the things they offered contained eggs and dairy. But their hot tea was sensational. We also found out that they were going to be a vendor at the CDF Conference and Expo the next day! Perfect timing!
I had such a great time with
Michelle! Thank you so much for letting me tag along one one of your famous gluten-free bakery tours. I can’t wait to do it again!
Great article. If you ever come to Michigan I’ll have to show you around my fave bakeries!
