Best of Expo West 2017: Gluten-Free Sweets

Erica Dermer, March 18, 2017March 18, 2017

Expo West is my favorite time of the year, a gluten-free new product Christmas. Every year, I try to find the newest, hottest products from the Best of Expo West that you’l see on store shelves soon, or in the upcoming year. I have several categories that I plan on presenting to you, along with the giveaway that runs for a month at the bottom of the page. You’ll be entered to win lots of swag from the Best of Expo West 2017! I now present to you the Best of Expo West 2017 in the category of gluten-free sweets.

Daiya Pumpkin Spice Cheezecake

My top favorites at Expo West typically include new launches from Daiya Foods because they’re all gluten-free and dairy-free too (as well as vegan). I can eat anything there, and they thankfully sample everything at the show on gluten-free bread and crackers – thank you! This year, they’ve expanded several of their lines, including their Cheezecakes! You will have to pick up their new pumpkin spice cheezecake – but sad face, it’s only seasonal! Find their flavors here: http://daiyafoods.com/our-foods/cheezecake/

Boulder Cookie

Paleo/grain-free cookies can sometimes be…disappointing. Either too coconut-y, too almond-y, too dry, or just too weird. Boulder Cookie is not disappointing, and is also vegan and soy free. While I loved the chocolate chip cookie flavor, they have a banana walnut that is the perfect sub for when I want to take a loaf of quick bread with me when I travel. Learn more at: http://bouldercookie.com/products/

NadaMoo Birthday Cake + S’mores Frozen Dessert

NadaMoo launched two new flavors right before the show. They launched Birthday Cake cookie dough is gluten-free and vegan. It’s filled with cake, chocolate chip cookie dough, and sprinkles. This is exactly what i needed to stuff my face with every birthday. Who needs Baskin’ Robbin’s Ice Cream Birthday Cake anymore? I really enjoyed the S’mores, and they use one of my favorite vegan marshmallows – Dandies – inside! You should be able to find these on store shelves now. Find out more about NadaMoo here: http://nadamoo.com/

NadaMoo! Birthday Cake and S'mores

Benny from NoWhey

I can’t tell you how many people that I’ve impressed by pulling up Benny The Bunny when they complain about not being able to have an allergy-friendly bunny for Easter. Want a giant bunny? Meet Franky – their larger chocolate bunny. You must get to know No Whey!See their entire Easter line here: https://www.nowheychocolate.com/

The Maple Guild Chocolate Peanut Butter Maple Cream

The Maple Guild makes some amazing products with maple syrup. Oddly enough, ever product I’ve ever posted about them, has not been just their syrup! Their Maple Cream is a creamy, butter-like substance they whip up from the syrup that’s perfect in tea or on toast. Their Maple Vinegar, award-winning, is a unique way of making vinegar drinkable with the added touch of their high-quality maple syrup. And this new gem? Imagine their maple cream with peanut butter and chocolate. I can’t wait to spread this on my morning toast! Learn more about this maple-loving line here: http://www.mapleguild.com/

Pascha Chocolate’s Organic White Bar

You know I love Pascha Chocolate. You know I love their new vegan gluten-free white chocolate. What you didn’t know is that I’ve found something new to love – their amazing white chocolate in a hand-held bar format!Their new branding shows off how incredible their ingredients are, while calling out some of their top free-from statements (although they’re free from the top 8). Learn more about Pascha Chocolate here: http://paschachocolate.com/our-chocolate/chocolate-bars-1-2-oz-35g/dairy-free-rice-milk-chocolate-bars/

Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss Sandwich

If you’ve been waiting for a gluten-free ice cream sandwich, the wait is over. Now, this isn’t just an ordinary, run-of-the-mill ice cream sandwich gone gluten-free. You may notice the price is a little high, but that’s because of the quality ingredients that go into making this organic, large ice cream sandwich. It’s made with sprouted flour, which is easier for your body to digest the nutrients inside. It’s non-GMO and made with fair-trade chocolate, along with their already high-quality frozen dessert that you know and love. Learn more about the brand here: http://coconutbliss.com/

Because Cookie Dough’s Cups

Because Cookie Dough launched their single serving cups of “cookie batter batter.” It’s meant to be eaten raw or popped into the microwave for half a minute for a mug “cake” like treat. Their espresso flavor is made with Stumptown espresso – shout out! Learn more about the brand here: http://www.becausecookiedough.com/onlineshop/brownie-batter-cups-select-3

Because Cookie Dough

Barnana Brittle

I’ve always thought Barnana was an interesting brand because it’s made from upcycled bananas, addressing critical food waste problems. I really like their bites, especially the peanut butter bites. They just launched gluten-free barnana brittle, made with gluten-free oat flour, to bring some crunch into their bananas, in flavors like gingersnap and toasted coconut.

Alpendough’s Protein Cookie

This gluten-free vegan, non-GMO protein cookie is made with pumpkin seed protein! Available in chocolate chip, double chocolate cherry, and my favorite – lemon poppy – these flavors taste more like cookies than something you’d eat for sustenance!
