I’ve been a big fan of Enjoy Life’s mini chips for awhile now, so when Enjoy Life asked me to review some of their new products, I was more than happy. They shipped me some of their new granola – the Double Chocolate Crunch Granola – for review and for a giveaway.
First, this granola is definitely a treat! A serving size – 1/2 cup – is 180 calories with 4 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of sugar. It’s definitely a treat. I could not eat this every day, it’s a lot of calories, and it’s pretty darn sweet, but it hit the spot tonight as a dessert. I mixed it with Madagascar Vanilla Lifeway Kefir and it was just brilliant.
It’s also got a cool packaging – it’s resealable, so you can leave it in the bag and not waste another tupperware container.
Ingredients: Brown Rice Flakes, Chocolate Chips (Evaporated Cane Juice, Natural Chocolate Liquor (Non-Alcoholic), Non-Dairy Cocoa Butter), Evaporated Cane Juice, Brown Rice Syrup, Rice Bran, Rice Crisps (Rice Flour, Rice Bran, Raisin Juice Concentrate, Honey, Salt), Natural Process Cocoa Powder, Inulin (Chicory Root Fiber), Ground Flaxseed, Natural Chocolate Flavor, Honey, Vanilla, Expeller-Pressed Vegetable Oil (Safflower Oil and/or Sunflower Oil), Salt, Rosemary Extract
It took me writing the ingredients to realize that there were no oats in this granola. It tasted just like crunchy granola – so I didn’t even question it. But brown rice flakes, that’s awesome!
It’s vegan, kosher, casein and gluten-free. Enjoy Life is great because it’s free of the 8 most-common allergens (wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, shellfish) and also free of potatoes, sesame, sulfites, and casein. Also, it’s made in a dedicated facility. And you know how much I love a dedicated facility! They test all products down to 10ppm to ensure they are gluten-free (more extensive than the FDA’s 20ppm standard).
I don’t think this is an everyday granola – because it’s pretty sweet and has chocolate in it (I can’t justify having chocolate for breakfast every day). But it’s a fun treat to buy every now and then that really livens up your gluten-free granola routine – especially for those with a sweet tooth! I’m giving this a 4, but only on special occasions! This is a great granola for those with common allergens too – and no oats!

Im already a fan! I love to eat granola plain or as a topping to help me eat yogurt.ick i cant eat yogurt without it! I also use it every now and then to make my own granola balls or balls! Especially if its a really yummy one, like chocolate! Wink, wink! Love reading your posts as a newly diagnosed and just learning! But i’ve always loved granola!
I like to top my protein smoothie with a little of the granola for some crunch! That’s frozen fruit, rice protein powder, flax, coconut milk yogurt, and almond milk. Pears give it a great texture, like a milkshake. 😀

Ooh, it’s been so long since I had granola since I’ve been trying to avoid oats, but this sounds delish, much like all the Enjoy Life stuff! I like my granola best with yogurt:)

I top my plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit, cereal, and some granola – it’s my favorite breakfast and I look forward to it every morning! Also I’m a facebook fan 🙂

I like to smear my banana in pb, roll in granola, and then freeze!
I usually eat granola with kefir and banana or berries!
I most enjoy eating granola w/ my almond milk. The double chololate crunch is my all time favorite!
