Review and Giveaway Red Apple Lipstick Summer of Passion Giveaway Day 1

Hello and welcome! It’s day one of the Summer of Passion Giveaway with Celiac and the Beast and Red Apple Lipstick.

Today’s product is Summer Sands – part of their new Summer Passion line. It’s gluten-free and paraben-free and extra moisturizing for summer. It’s allergen-free and vegan, and free from animal cruelty! How great is that?

First, let me introduce you to the makers of Summer Sands – Red Apple Lipstick.

Red Apple Lipstick is an awesome company – I’ve loved them since the moment I met them at the Chicago Gluten and Allergen Free Expo in Chicago in April. I have to tell you – I’m really bad at checking if my lipsticks are gluten-free. And I feel terrible about it! I’m supposed to be some sort of awesome GF person who can tell you what products rule or not. And I’m not following my own instructions. I finally weened myself off of my current lipsticks and threw everything out that wasn’t certified GF. I stuck to just using Aquaphor for months. My lips haven’t seen a shade other than naked lips for months! And then a shipment of Red Apple Lipstick came in to sample and I was so excited – thanks again Andrea and Jay at RAL!

Here’s some photos of me rockin’ Summer Sands. PS I’m also wearing Red Apple Lipstick’s new eyeshadows! The two colors I’m wearing with Summer Sands are E13 (Golden Girl) and E8 (porcelain) – just recently named online! Make sure to check RAL for when you can buy these great eyeshadows!

This lipstick is perfect for everyday use – not too showy or flashy, and perfectly moisturizing. I paired it with light, golden-toned eyeshadows for a soft look. I could wear this easily to work or outside by the pool.

Although it’s nice to have a neutral color in your lipstick repertoire, I’m more of an intense color girl. I’m going to give this one a 4 for being moisturizing and being a great gluten-free lipstick. Looking for a nude with a bit of a shimmer? Summer Sands is for you.

Pick me, pick me! I’ve recently decided to dump all my old makeup and begin investing in a complete line of GF products. Lips are first, as I’m so sensitive I can hardly tolerate anything else. I’ve been a fan of Red Apple on FB for a little while now and love your philosophy. I just haven’t taken the plunge yet because of my sensitivities.

I’m still new to celiac and have been switching out all of my make up. I would love to have another color since the few i’ve tried from red apple were amazing. I could definitely use some summer colors that are a little more neutral–they’ve been hard to find!

Have recently been diagnosed with Celiac, so i’ve had to change EVERYTHING i’ve known since childhood, fun times!! (not) Not only am I Celiac, but also am going through menopause at an early age (more fun times). SO……. the thought of getting my hands on makeup that is actually safe???? HEAVEN!!

Hi, I’m a US resident and already a “liker” and follower of RA on facebook.

The thing that interests me most about gluten-free makeup and the reason I would like to win is because I don’t want gluten from my lipsticks to make it’s way into and damage my intestines :O

  26. April Pope July 23, 2012 at 1:01 pm Reply

I’d love to win a lipstick that I knew I could wear without worry. It has been a long time since Ive worn any. Thanks Red Apple Lipstick!

    Hello!

I would love to win!!!! I found out about me being allergic to gluten last year. I have had to change everything even shampoo and toothpaste! I I had no choice but to dump my makeup in the garabage. found out about this great company through someone’s blog ( I bought some gluten free lipstick from almay and body shop and found out they have a huge cross contamination issue basically I am still infecting my body with gluten) Then I found this company and holy crap I thought I could never wear lipstick again. I hate going out on the town or just everyday looking like a plain jane! I desperately want to put some colour back in my lips! I have never tried anything from this brand so it would awesome to test it out. I am sooo happy that this company is zero gluten! because I cannot have one spec of gluten in me. I haven’t found any other website that is guaranteed gluten free like them.

I will definetly do a happy dance if you pick me 🙂

I just now heard of your gluten-free products. As a vegetarian and health nut, I am always concerned with what I put in and on my body. I try to buy products that are natural, and I only buy products that are cruelty-free! I would love to try some of these cool products in your line.

I am very sensitive to many retail cosmetics because they contain ingredients that cause me irritation. So I try to stay “as natural” as possible. I like the way gluten-free lipsticks stay on my lips, keep them moist, and feel natural. The colors last too!

  43. V July 23, 2012 at 10:26 pm Reply

I’ve started replacing all my personal care products and haven’t done lipstick yet–just replaced my “Chapstick” which is harder than you think when you don’t do gluten or soy. 😀 I’d love a gorgeous lipstick!

I would love to win this for my daughter! She was diagnosed after being extremely ill. Although she has adjusted to her new lifestyle, she now is at the age she would like to wear lipstick on some occasions like her friends. I so much, would love to see the smile on her face by providing her more of a “normal” life without sacrificing beauty.

I’d love to win because I’m a newbie celiac trying to rebuild her make-up collection! My favorite look is that “everyday ease” and a nude/slight shimmer lip is perfect for that.

I love red apple lipstick, but I’m a full time student and blew my last 6 months worth of makeup money on one tube of the wrong shade and shipping, and would like to have to the right shade! Plus I am a big Celiac and the beast fan 😉

Id like to win gluten free makeup because recently I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my sister has been diagnosed with hashimotos disease. Gluten is not our best friend so I would like to find makeup we can use that is not only quality and beauty but lifestyle friendly for us 🙂

It’s not sure the gluten with me. It’s more the other nasty stuff used in other lipsticks. I’ve only used one color so far and am loving it.

I would love to try gluten free makeup for many reasons. 1 being I am learning about a gluten-free lifestyle and I want to try all the facets of it to see what works for me. 2. I have sensitive skin and start itching very easily with many make-ups/skin care products.

thanks for the reviews and giveaways:)

Welp, I’m a freelance hair and makeup artist and was diagnosed with celiac disease last Monday. Wahhhhhh! Has applying makeup and hairspray to my clients been making me sick??
I’m in a current state of “do I throw my kits away and start over?”.
So, I would love some lipstick to help build the new and improved kit! Actually, advice and friendly celiac friends in my position would be pretty rad too.
    Cheers,
    Sara Jean
