12 Days of Celiac Christmas: #2 Red Apple Lipstick

Welcome to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Celiac Christmas! Like yesterday, today is brought to you by Red Apple Lipstick. Now, if you didn’t know yet – Red Apple Lipstick is more than just lipstick! They launched an amazing eye-shadow line a few months ago, and it is AMAZING.

I have been a Clinique eyeshadow user since birth. In fact, before I got any RAL, I had about 10 palettes of colors. I had two different kinds of make-up that you had to use to put on your lids in order to keep the eye-shadow on all day. You definitely couldn’t put it on wet, so if you needed any lasting color – you had to buy more of their own product.

And then I got a few Red Apple Lipstick products in the mail, courtesy of RAL.

Oh. My. God. I swiped away all of my Clinique and threw everything else away. Why do I love Red Apple Lipstick eyeshadow so much? Let me tell you.

1) It’s so easy to use. You can put it on dry, but I prefer to put it on wet. It requires NO other products – just a brush and a drop of water. You’ve got the most amazing rich color.

2) They come in a huge assortment of colors – from nude palettes to the fun crazy colors that I love wearing for a night out or using a funky vintage outfit to feel like a queen.

3) They’re gluten free (duh – why wouldn’t this be included?!?!)

4) They’re vegan and cruelty-free – just think of all the happy bunnies!

5) The eye-shadow stays on for forever! No need to reapply to look incredibly sexy all day long!

I’ve been having a lot of fun with the blue hues of RAL. I was shipped Midnight Lagoon and when first looking at it, I was terrified because I haven’t worn blue eyeshadow since I was 8 years old in the 80’s. But I put it on, and I rocked it. Don’t ever think that you can’t pull and eyeshadow off – you just have to be confident!

I have my own personal favorites – Brownie Points, Espresso, and Olive This Color. I don’t leave the house without RAL on now – because it’s just too easy to put it on and look glam!

I love RAL and they always deserve a 5 out of 5 wheat stalks in my book! Thank you for the past two days – RAL! We really appreciate you being a part of our 12 Days of Celiac Christmas!

I like blue jay and graphite fam. I don’t wear make up much, so this would be all new for me. Thanks!

To be honest, the only time I think I’ve worn eye shadow was when I was on stage for a musical or opera production! I’d love to win and learn how to wear it well-sounds like a great brand and a great product!!

I would love to win this contest and get three new shadows. I was just diagnosed as celiac in June and have stopped wearing makeup since I got sick after using my old lipstick. I’ve just started researching makeup and asked for lipsticks from RAL for christmas. Brownie Points, Graphite Glam and Violet Vixen shadow would be awesome colors for me!

I want to ditch my current eyeshadow because I’m not sure it is GF & paraben free, it def. doesn’t stay on all day & I would love to support a company that thinks our health is just as important as their profit. If I were to win the Z-pallete + 3 colors of my choice,I would choose Champagne, Twinkle Taupe & Brownie Points!

Hey Sharri! You won, and you have 7 days to contact me, or else I will have to redraw the winner! I can’t find your contact information, I don’t think you put it into the contest!

I don’t wear eyeshadow right now because it is a pain in the butt! But I would totally wear RAL. It sounds awesome! Tutu, Champagne and Blue Jay look cool.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup but have started wearing a little. Champagne, Twinkle Taupe and Violet Vixen sound great.

  7. Susan Martin December 6, 2012 at 9:40 pm Reply

I love the graphite or any of the Aphrodite group! I wear mineral, up but it creases on my lid.

  8. Jenn Shaffer December 6, 2012 at 9:43 pm Reply

I am loving the champagne, graphite and violet vixen colors! After struggling with my reluctance to live gluten free after being diagnosed with celiac in 2008, I am finally 100% gluten free and feel ah-mazing! I think now is the time to show how I feel on the outside and get a little glam! Win or no win I am buying some of their products to promote a great company!

These look amazing! Especially on you 🙂 I want to ditch my eyeshadow (well, really all my makeup) in exchange for a more natural healthy option…for me, olive, champagne, and violet look awesome…as does penny and the silver one…well, they all look awesome! 🙂

I really love all of RAL’s products and am looking to get more due to my other eyeshadows becoming outdated. I really love Olive This Color, Violet Vixen, and Buttercream. All very pretty, versatile colors.

I want to ditch my current eyeshadow, because I’m looking for something new… I’m tired of the same-old-same-old! 🙂 I like playing with makeup, and bonus points if it’s gluten-free and there’s no risk of an allergic reaction!

I was so sad to find out that many of my favorite MAC eye shadow colors have gluten in them and get frustrated when I select the “perfect shade” only to look at the list and see it is one listed as having gluten. Love the idea of choosing eye shadows without the possibility of being let down! Champagne, Twinkle Taupe and Brownie Points would make a great smokey eye that goes from day to night (depending on how dark you apply and eyeliner).

Oooh I love the Olive This Color, Lucky Penny, and Champagne. All are so pretty. I don’t wear makeup much but I like it and would love to wear it more.

I would ditch my eye shadow I have now because it burns my eyes. Honestly burns them to the point I can’t see anymore. It makes me upset because I’ve spent so much money. But I’d ditch it for RAL line of eye shadows. They seem well pigmented and beautiful. I’d love to just throw away what I have and start fresh and new =]. I love neutrals. So any natural eye shadow will do for this gal. Thanks for the giveaway =]

I’d ditch mine because I’ve been so happy with their lippies, that I’m sure I’d love their shadows! Thank you for the giveaway. I love ALL shades so I’m sure any 3 will be awesome!

I cannot get over the champagne color!! This product sounds easy and amazing and GF friendly:)

  17. Sassy Celiac (Pamela) December 9, 2012 at 2:18 pm Reply

I’d ditch mine because the GF ones I have are messy and far too shimmery for every day use.

I think I would go with Twinkle Taupe, Graphite Glam (which may just end up being a gift for Miss Glam herself!), and Lucky Penny (my dog’s name is Penny…that’s not why, but still..cute LOL)

    So excited for these giveaways!

I never really wear eye shadow thats good quality so this would be a great change! I’d live violet, sand castle & blue jay!

I ADORE blue eyeshadow. But I suspect you know this, ;P

I love the Galaxy palate. Pretty shade, and what a fun & funky blue smoky eye one could make!

I’m a newly diagnosed celiac and am still getting residual gluten from somewhere. Knowing my makeup is gluten free will help that worry go away and help me to narrow down the item making me sick! I LOVE the espresso and olive colors!

  21. Theresa W December 10, 2012 at 9:54 am Reply

I would love Olive this color, graphite glam, and tutu cute. I have started rebuilding my gluten free, chemical free makeup and just ordered some neutral Brown colors from RAL, but it would be nice to have some colors that aren’t so neutral for special occasions. Thanks for the giveaways!

I didn’t know makeup needed to be gluten free! I’m newly diagnosed and still trying to figure out the ropes! I would love to try this because I’m not sure any makeup I own is gf! I like olive, sand castle and lucky penny.

  23. Kristin December 10, 2012 at 11:21 am Reply

I LOVE eyeshadow, but I am really looking for one that will stay put all day. Knowing it’s gluten-free – will just make me that much more comfortable using it!! I love the Violet Vixon, Iced Mocha, and Sand Castle colors!!! 😉

I’m still learning to cope with being gluten and dairy free, and what products affect me. I haven’t tried any safe make up yet, nor do I know what brands are good to use that still look fab on. The Twinkle Taupe and Champagne colors caught my eye. I love a natural look when I put on eyeshadow. It’s be neat to see of my complexion clears up by trying a product like this.

    Oh and Brownie Points! 😉

I honestly didn’t realize cosmetics contained gluten. Yikes! I am a bit of a makeup addict. I would love to switch out my current products. If I win I would love the Violet Vixen, Olive This Color, and Lucky Penny eyeshadows.

I really like the Buttercream, Champagne and Graphite Glam colors. It would be nice to not have to worry about rubbing your eyes, etc…since they’re gf. That’s pretty awesome.

I use various brands of make up as of now, but am trying to transfer to all gluten free products. I definitely notice my skin reacting negatively to the makeup products I SHOULD NOT be using, but it is all so expensive. I really would love to try the violet vixen, olive this color, and graphite glam eye shadows!
