Sur La Table & KitchenAid Getaway with International Food Bloggers Conference

Sur La Table at International Food Bloggers Conference

At the 2014 International Food Bloggers Conference, I was part of a special group that got to see the Sur La Table test kitchen in action. They bussed a gaggle of bloggers out to their test kitchen facility where we met with the CEO and marketing team of Sur La Table and some marketing team members from KitchenAid. As you would expect from someone like me, I was amazed at all the kitchen gadgetry. I tend to go old school with my equipment, so all of the new KitchenAid products looked like alien witchcraftery to me.

KitchenAid American Horror Story

Would I love to have an entire line of KitchenAid products in my home? Of course I would – no one would say no to that. But, I’m not that great of a baker or cook, and I seriously doubt it’s just my kitchen products that are holding me back. Perhaps if this blog takes a turn towards heavy-duty baking or cooking, I’d invest my blogger dollars into their line of products. However, I can still appreciate them for what they are – badass.

My biggest beef during the event? Of course all the recipes and demos are full of gluten. LIke straight up semolina flour. Oh, and dairy. Just for farts and giggles. There were at least 3 people in the room that were gluten-free. But did you know that 300,000 take cooking classes at Sur La Table annually? That’s awesome! They base classes off of class feedback and chef feedback – so make sure you go into your store and request gluten-free classes!

KitchenAid Professional Line, your newest "Dear Santa"

KitchenAid Professional Line, your newest “Dear Santa”

So KitchenAid and Sur La Table have a lot of awesome things out now that should probably be on your next “Dear Santa” letter.

1. KitchenAid slow juicer and sauce attachment and a food processor attachment for your stand mixer

2. KitchenAid Pro Line cordless hand blender. It looks slightly like an adult toy. And don’t you worry, everyone made that joke to themselves at the event filled with whispered snickers.

3. KitchenAid Pro Line electric tea kettle – in red.

4. KitchenAid Nespresso Aeroccino – in red. Yes please!

5. Make Your Own Gin and Make Your Own Bitters Kit. Seriously, I want these SO bad. SO BAD.

I’ve included a few others in my upcoming 2014 Holiday Guide, so be on the lookout for Sur La Table and KitchenAid products there soon!

***DISCLAIMER: In order to get the professional bloggers’ rate at International Food Bloggers Conference, I had to write three posts about my time at IFBC 2014. Which was totally fine with me because you know how I love writing about all the conferences I attend. Done and done!***
