I’ve got another great giveaway for you guys! Applegate sent me a You Grill Girl kit to promote summer’s grilling season and their scrumdiddlyumptious hotdogs! They offer grass-fed beef hotdogs. Can’t do beef like me? They have turkey and even chicken hotdogs too.

I’m obsessed with Applegate – I purchase their proscuitto, genoa salami, and their pork pepperoni a few times a month. I don’t eat pork products except for Applegate products (unless my store doesn’t have it, and then I have to find proscuitto from another reputable brand). I’ve been duped by other brands, bringing home salami only to find that it has dairy in it, or it is made with beef as well as pork, and I’ve had to give it away (or feed it to non-GFBF).

 

If you have food allergies, check their food allergen search on their website. They are really good at declaring all of their ingredients including specific spices that they use – unlike other brands.

Now, before I get to the giveaway, I know some of you guys are worried that Applegate “sold out” to Hormel. While we love seeing small guys kept small, as a business they must grow and prosper in order to flourish as a business and continue making great products and have distribution that is available to everyone. As long as company values are held to high standards and the quality of food does not diminish, I for one – will applaud these small companies growing and being able to serve more and more people who search for food just like we do.
