I’m here today to talk about eating your vegetables. It’s National Eat Your Vegetables Day. We’re all adults here, so you know the importance of getting your daily servings of vegetables. Eat vegetables at every meal. Eat the rainbow. Get your daily vitamins and fiber through a plant-based diet. Finish your vegetables or else you’re not getting dessert.
Okay, I’ll eat my vegetables today…on a pizza.
That’s right, for National Eat Your Vegetable Day, I’m talking about pizza. Sonoma Flatbreads, our sponsor, launched their first gluten-free and dairy-free pizza, packed with roasted vegetables at Expo East last year in Baltimore. I was joined by some of my dear friends, like Pam from I’m a Celiac, Cindy from Vegetarian Mamma, and Taylor from Gluten Away as we were some of the first to taste-test this brand new pizza.
Needless to say that we gorged ourself on pizza. We had spent days nibbling on snacks, and we needed a real meal. That pizza might have been my saving grace in Baltimore.
So when I connected with Sonoma Flatbreads and they wanted to partner together on this new pizza, I was already sold. My local Safeway (Albertsons, Vons, etc.) started stocking the individual pizzas, but I still haven’t seen the full-size in my neighborhood yet. I think these individual pizzas are just the perfect size for me for lunch or dinner. If you’ve got a hungry teenage-boy-sized-appetite like I do with Non-GFBF, you might want to consider upgrading to the larger size of the Sonoma Flatbreads gluten-free pizzas if you can find them.
They have changed the formulation a bit since I originally tasted it almost 10 months ago now. They had sourced very unique cheese from overseas. However, now it is using Follow Your Heart vegan cheese. I’m perfectly okay with using Follow Your Heart – it’s an incredible “cheese” that I use regularly to make my own pizza too.
You can see that it has a variety of fire roasted vegetables, including onions, peppers, mushrooms – and of course, garlic. Because garlic is life! And this pizza, like the other gluten-free pizzas from Sonoma Flatbreads, are certified gluten-free and safe for celiacs.
I really enjoy this pizza as is, or loading it up with more things – from sausage (I’m not vegan, just dairy-free and egg-free), to cauliflower rice – as pictured below. The cauliflower rice doesn’t impart a strong flavor, and adds more veggies to the pizza. I love adding cauliflower rice into just about everything. If you want to add more vegetables into your diet, buy riced cauliflower, broccoli and sweet potato and add it to as many dishes as you can. I like to make a zoodles and pasta dish (because
who wants to eat just zoodles) and top it with non-dairy butter, garlic, and sautéed cauliflower and broccoli rice. That gives me three different vegetables in one dish – and it still feels like I’m just eating pasta! I also love to add sautéed broccolini (baby broccoli) to my dairy-free plant-based pizzas, like this Sonoma Flatbreads dairy-free fire roasted vegetables pizza.
You can find this Sonoma Flatbreads Gluten Free Dairy Free Fire Roasted Vegetables Pizza
at a store near you. Follow
Sonoma Flatbreads on Facebook and on
Twitter for updates on this pizza and their other gluten-free favorites.
I was paid for this promotion with Sonoma Flatbreads, however, I believe I already spent my budget stocking up on these pizzas because they’re awesome.

I love veggies on pizza– I used to despise mushrooms but have recently befriended them again 🙂
Even though I don’t have to eat dairy-free, I LOVE this pizza. The dairy-free cheese has an amazing creaminess to it!
Oh my heavens! I had no idea they had a dairy-free, gluten-free flatbread now. I’ve been looking for some quick dairy-free meals, and my husband is gluten-free, too, so this could be a must try!
Their pizzas are THE best. I am so sad my Coscto doesn’t carry their dairy-free version.
What a great idea to add even more veggies to make it a super loaded pizza. Such a smart idea to use cauliflower rice and I love that you add zoodles to noodles.
We still have to go to specialty stores for dairy free pizzas but I’ll be on the lookout for this fire roasted veggie one. It looks so good & I love the idea of adding cauli rice to it for a little extra veggies.
I can’t wait till Sonoma pizza is available is South Florida! Love them!
