If you’ve been following Celiac and the Beast for a while, first off – thank you. But if you’ve been around for at least a year, you’ll probably remember that I was headed to Kansas City, Kansas around October of last year. But around this time – I was raising money for Beyond Celiac with Step Beyond Celiac KC5K with the amazing Kansas City crew. They were raising money for Beyond Celiac – one of the foremost celiac non-profits around.

I’ve been working with Beyond Celiac for years – helping to work on their Go Beyond Celiac research platform. Here’s a shameless plug to please become part of the research community at Go Beyond Celiac here. So, here I am again. Celiac Disease Awareness Month, May, and I’m trying to raise money yet again for Beyond Celiac.

Because I am celiac.

Because this is a cause I believe in.

Because you need to believe in it too.

Just because it was hard for us now, doesn’t mean it has to be as difficult for the next generation.

We’re working for a cure, a medication, or anything that will help us all live easier lives. There are so many things that can come from supporting a non-profit like Beyond Celiac – increasing awareness of the seriousness of celiac disease, increasing funding for celiac disease research, and help to find a cure or a pharmaceutical intervention for celiac disease to make our lives easier, safer, healthier.

Right now I’m raising money through the KC5k Step Beyond Celiac team.

The KC5K is a fun run, walk event on October 6^th 2018 for the entire family! Its goal is to raise funds to support new research investigations and help develop a global patient registry of people diagnosed with celiac disease who want to participate in research studies, including clinical trials.
