Celiac and the Beast’s Gluten Free Holiday Charity Auction

Some might say that I’m pretty darn crafty – or at least that I have given my fair share of paychecks to Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. This Christmas, I wanted to make fun gluten-free-related items and sell them for some extra money (since I don’t have a full time job anymore and would like to support a new-found Pyrex habit at local antique shops). However, I’d like to put my items up for an auction with the profits going to charity. I’ve donated my time and art supplies to make these, and I’m just asking you to cover the basics for most of the items (I’ve spent about $100 out of my own pocket to make these) and shipping. But, I’m also hoping that you genuinely enjoy these items and want to make them a part of your home, or want to give one as a gift for Christmas. I’m putting these items up on eBay and covering the auction listing expenses out of my pocket too. Please tell all of your gluten-free friends and organizations about this. I’m hoping we can raise a good amount of money for them!

If you’re wondering, I’ve chosen a few organizations that mean a lot to me, and I think they mean a lot to the gluten-free community too. These are Celiac Disease Foundation, National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, Gluten Intolerance Group, Celiac Sprue Association, and The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (now FARE – Food Allergy Research and Education). I’m sorry that I couldn’t include every non-profit, but maybe if this goes well, we can do another one and benefit more organizations!
