As part of the Glutino blogger program, I received a bunch of products to blog about for September. If you remember, I wrote about my awesome Cookie-Cookie-Brownie Fauxreo creations last month for Back to School. This month, the kids are in school and we’re all about SPORTS. Okay, so not all of us are about sports. I’m not about sports. I’m all about TELEVISION. And for me, September is all about shows coming back on TV! Here are some of my favorites debuting in September:
- Hotel Impossible, Travel Channel
- Nashville, ABC
- Empire, FOX
- Scandal, ABC
- Shark Tank, ABC
- Bob’s Burgers, FOX
- Marvels Agents of SHIELD, ABC
- NEW Hand of God, Amazon Prime
- NEW Minority Report, FOX
- NEW The Bastard Executioner, FX
- NEW Scream Queens, FOX
- Shout-outs to new shows that started in August: Fear the Walking Dead, AMC and NARCOS, Netflix
I’m making Salted Caramel Covered Pretzel Cupcakes to celebrate the return of so many of my favorite TV shows and the start of so many hours wasted away on my couch with cats!!! What you’ll need:
- Cupcake mix
- Glutino Salted Caramel Covered Pretzels
- Caramel or caramel sauce
Prepare and bake your cupcakes per the instructions. Once your cupcake is out of the oven, stick a Glutino Salted Caramel Covered Pretzel right in the middle. You can always make a small slit in the cupcake with a knife and tuck the pretzel inside with about half of it sticking out. If you use regular pretzels, you can bake inside the cupcake later into the baking process, so they stay firm, but the batter is solid enough to support its weight. However, with the Salted Caramel Pretzels, you’ll have to wait until the cupcakes are out of the oven, as they will melt inside the high heat.
Next you’ll need some caramel. I use JJ’s Cocomels that I have on hand. You can melt using a double boiler. Use your artistic skills to drizzle the caramel over the cupcake and the pretzel before it seizes! To make it way easier, you can always use a caramel sauce like you would use on ice cream – although it’d be a lot more runny and won’t keep for as long as caramel. Use on cupcakes you plan on eating immediately. Note: Hershey’s Caramel Syrup is gluten free or access the Pioneer Woman’s recipe on the Food Network here.
Another take on these cupcakes: coat the cupcakes in chocolate frosting and crumble broken salted caramel covered pretzels on top of the frosting!
Aren’t these the perfect little treats to combine salty and sweet for a night on the couch watching TV premieres? I think they are!

Man, these look great! Nice work. Have to try to stay positive and find the good and humor in everything in front of us. Celiac disease is a very difficult thing to live with and affects people in a very life altering way. I guess having a sense of humor is a great way to deal with it as this video captures quite well. Hopefully this puts a smile on your face and makes you laugh a little.https://www.facebook.com/manchildempire/videos/vb.1589858387893958/1658430701036726/?type=2&theater
