Turn Sabra Hummus Into a Pizza Dip!

Sometimes you don’t have time for a “real” meal. Or sometimes you just need a more substantial snack than just chips. So what’s a girl to do? Make an unofficial meal! I’m making an unofficial meal with Sabra Hummus – as they are one of my sponsors and I’m proud to be a Sabra Tastemaker! I mean, just look at how beautiful my fridge is…

What you need to make this “recipe” is pretty simple and up to you:

Sabra’s Basil Pesto Hummus already comes with a set of spices like basil (obviously – hence the name), garlic, and red peppers inside, so you don’t need to add much to make it taste like a pizza. I had dried basil on hand, so I added some on top, like I would a pizza. I also topped with Applegate pepperoni and Follow Your Heart vegan shreds. To really make it pizza-licious, I served with Enjoy Life Foods’ Plentil chips in Margarita Pizza flavor. I could have had the entire dish and not had dinner. I would have been okay with that. Note: contains soy.

I always have hummus in my fridge, so it’s easy to create a pre-gaming snack from it with the use of some easy toppings you probably already have. Since I make pizza on the regular, I always have pizza toppings in the fridge. If you are a vegan, it’s easy to omit the pepperoni and use Beyond Meat’s sausage crumbles – as long as it’s gluten-free and could fit on a pizza, it’s fair game.

Looking for other ideas? Here are my suggestions:

  1. Taco Hummus: Classic style Sabra hummus, Hatch diced chiles, cilantro, cooked black beans, and salsa! You can also add taco spices, as long as they are gluten free!
  2. Greek Hummus: Lemon Twist style Sabra Hummus, olive oil, garbanzo beans, and dried seasoning like oregano, thyme, basil, onion and garlic!

Match the dip to the dippers like gluten-free corn tortilla chips to the taco hummus and garbanzo bean crackers for the Greek hummus!

Seriously, DO try this at home! It’s an easy snack or pre-meal. Let Sabra Hummus be in charge of your #UnofficialMeal!
