I’m pretty lucky to have Whole Foods, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Kroger (Fry’s), Safeway, and Albertsons in my city. But I know that many of you do not have access to these grocery stores that offer endless gluten-free items for Thanksgiving and regular shopping occasions. Here’s a round-up of my favorite gluten-free Thanksgiving items that you can order online!
Gluten-Free Pies and Desserts
Why are pies and desserts listed first? Because I think they are the most important part of Thanksgiving and Christmas. When else is dessert so highly celebrated as a communal holiday gathering? Don’t skimp on the dessert this holiday just because you don’t want to make something. Order online!
Gluten-Fre Pre-Made Desserts
Maine Pie Company offers a variety of pre-made frozen pies that are gluten-free certified and certified kosher. I highly recommend their pecan pie. I had a chance to taste these two years ago when I did a big pie feature for Gluten Free & More magazine. They’re just like the real thing! These contain dairy and egg. You can also order on Gluten-Free Mall.
Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Desserts
Raised Gluten Free is on my must-have list for Thanksgiving! They are all gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free (as well as vegan). They offer pies in a variety of flavors from pumpkin, apple, strawberry rhubarb, cranberry apple, blueberry bliss, and southern peach pie. Thankfully, most of you can find these pies in Whole Foods, or other locations near you. Their pies are not available for nationwide shipping (as of 2022).
Katz small pies are available at my local Sprouts, so I’m pretty lucky. If you’d like to buy their pies, you can visit Gluten-Free Mall or Katz website. Also, don’t forget to pick up their donuts while you’re stocking my cart. And the mini pies. Okay, so you might want to just pile everything in on the Katz website so you can qualify for next-day delivery.
Annie May’s Sweet Cafe DIY Cookie Cake Kit ships a pre-made giant 8″ cookie with two bags of frosting and decoration. It’s perfect for any occasion! It’s gluten-free and free from the top 8 allergens (can be made corn free too).
Petunia’s Pies and Pastries DIY Layer Cake Kit ships two boxes of chocolate or coconut cake mix, along with pre-made vegan/gluten-free buttercream in choices like vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, passion fruit or lemon. They also offer cupcakes and sugar cookies with frosting to decorate yourself at home!
Gluten-Free Turkey
White Oak Pastures offers the highest quality free-range pasture-raised turkeys I’ve ever met (not like I’ve met a lot of turkeys though honestly). I had so much fun on their regenerative agriculture-based farm in Georgia, and I love to support these guys!
Want something even easier? Epicured is offering pre-roasted turkey and gravy in a freezer-friendly a la carte entree. It’s also dairy-free and low-FODMAP.
Gluten-Free Stuffing
I just collaborated with MYBREAD Bakery on their new Thanksgiving pack! Each order contains 7 oz. of double-baked bread cubes, a stuffing recipe (that I made below from Instagram) and 8 dinner rolls!
Want pre-seasoned stuffing mix? Try Aleias Savory Stuffing (make sure you order before 11/19 to make it by Thanksgiving). They have the best stuffing I’ve found from a box.
Gluten-Free Rolls
Bread SRSLY offers sourdough dinner rolls in a 24 pack – perfect for Thanksgiving. These rolls are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and vegan.
Canyon Bakehouse launched new Brioche Rolls and Hawaiian Sweet Rolls in 2022, just in time for the holidays!
Gluten-Free Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Epicured offers low-fodmap gluten-free Thanksgiving menu. Please note that while some options are lactose-free, they are not suitable for a milk allergy. Don’t miss the green beans with almonds, pumpkin soup, or cranberry orange sauce! You can literally freeze your Thanksgiving dinner today!
Watch out for delivery dates!
I love ordering online and having Thanksgiving come to me! The biggest thing to know about ordering online is going to be delivery dates and shipping minimums. I’ve never struggled with shipping minimums because I love ordering online, but it’s something to consider. If you can score free shipping by adding another item to your cart that you can save for after Thanksgiving, do it! Make sure that you place orders before the delivery date deadline, especially if you’ll be traveling for Thanksgiving. You don’t want to order online and miss the delivery!
Happy shopping and here’s to a happy Thanksgiving!
