Sponsored Giveaway: Dole “Peel The Love” Bananas Yonanas Pajamas Jam

Erica Dermer, July 7, 2013December 14, 2015

I was contacted by Dole and their agency to do a little promotion for the Peel The Love tour. You could basically do whatever you wanted, so I’ve created the Dole Bananas Yonanas Pajamas Jam. Basically, it’s just an excuse for me to be in my pajamas and eat bananas and wine. AND WHY WOULDN’T I!?!?!

Dole’s Peel the Love Tour is a tour that goes across the nation with a banana food truck from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Although the tour is half over, I had to wait for my banana sensitivity time-out to lapse before I could try bananas again. When I reintroduced bananas into my diet, I was doing fine with them, so we decided to go peel-deep in our Peel the Love Bananas Yonanas Pajama Jam.

DOLE PEEL THE LOVE TOUR

http://www.dole.com/PeelTheLove

As per their press release, “Peel the Love. The three-word command serves as the theme of a bold, year-long Dole initiative stressing the fun, irreverence and universally beloved aspects of the iconic yellow fruit, which Dole grows more of globally than anyone else.”

This tour is sponsored by Dole Fresh Fruit and partners Blue Diamond Almondmilk (hey, that’s another one of our favorite GF brands!).

They’re about promoting new ways to use the banana, like one of my favorite treats – the Chocolate Monkey! It’s basically just a smoothie with bananas and chocolate almond milk!

Prep: 5 min. Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients:

  •  1 cup cold ALMOND BREEZE® Chocolate Almond Milk
  •  1-1/2 ripe DOLE® Bananas, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
  •  1 cup crushed ice
  •  1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  •  1 tablespoon honey

Directions:

  • Combine almond milk, bananas, ice, peanut butter, and honey in a blender or food processor.
  • Cover; blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

The Peel The Love Tour has already hit up Seattle, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. Here are the upcoming dates for the Peel the Love Bananas Tour:

July 11th – 21st

Des Moines, IA

July 25th – August 4th

#LETSTALKYONANAS

Yonanas

Visit http://www.yonanas.com/ to learn more about Yonanas. It retails for around $50.

Dole gave me a Yonanas machine to combine Dole bananas and fruit to make a frozen-yogurt like adventure that is all gluten-free and dairy-free (since it’s all bananas and fruit).

It was a really fun experience and we love the Yonanas machine! We made several different combinations of our own – bananas and peaches and mangos was one of my favorite. Non-GFBF loved using frozen berries without bananas for his. It’s a super fun way to have dessert that is healthy – and not cookies or brownies. I know that the nights that we had Yonanas instead of “real dessert” we avoided treats and felt satisfied after that!

*THIS IS A SPONSORED GIVEAWAY. Dole sought me out to be a Peel the Love blogger. They provided me with a Yonanas machine, coupons, and Dole swag to give away to you guys!*

I used to have an aversion to bananas, but lately we have been having smoothies for breakfast which always contain bananas. I love them! Frozen bananas are pretty amazing when they are dipped in chocolate and covered and nuts! I am also a frozen yogurt freak! It’s definitely my addiction! 😉 I am sure my husband would love for us to have a Yonanas because I’d be more motivated to be in the kitchen and eating a little more healthy! Love it!! 🙂
