Winter Fancy Foods Show 2016: Best Sweets

Winter Fancy Foods Show – San Francisco, CA January 2016

I was official press at the Winter Fancy Foods Show 2016 put on by the Specialty Food Association. I posted a ton of photos on Instagram, but in case you missed it, I’m posting my favorite foods in the category of sweets, drinks, and more. To avoid a ton of questions, EACH PRODUCT IS DIFFERENT: SOME PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC AND WILL BE ON A SHELF NEAR YOU SOON. SOME PRODUCTS ARE STILL IN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT AND WON’T BE OUT TO THE PUBLIC FOR MONTHS. SOME MIGHT BE DEVELOPED MORE BEFORE THEY HIT A GROCERY STORE NEAR YOU. This is up to the brand, and I don’t have much detail other than what I post about the product. Please inquire with the individual brand if you have questions. THIS INCLUDES QUESTIONS ABOUT INGREDIENTS – chances are I do not have details about all of the ingredients or manufacturing process yet. When the product is released to the public, you’ll probably see it on my Instagram! Hope this helps inspire you and get excited about the products coming down the pipeline for gluten-free living! Thanks for reading!

WFFS Gratify Pretzels

Gratify Foods’ gluten free sweet pretzels (dipped in various flavors of chocolate) for Valentine’s Day!

Bauli Gluten Free Panettone

You’re going to have to wait until Holiday 2016 to get ahold of this bad-boy, but this panettone is sure to impress you if you’ve been waiting for one of these to come around (made with butter and eggs). From Bauli – the makers of the original panettone.

WFFS Good Pop

While these aren’t new products from Good Pop, they have new flavors. Most are vegan (dairy-free). The Hibiscus Mint is so delicious. I can’t wait to find this flavor in retail.

WFFS Flax for Life

To be honest, I was never a fan of the Flax 4 Life muffins before. These chocolate brownie mini muffins (with their new rebranding) are so good. I could have mow’d down la whole clamshell pack of these in one sitting. I will be buying these.  WFFS Element Corn and Rice Cakes

I’ve seen the Element rice cakes in my store before and just passed them up. I decided to try the vegan (dairy-free) chocolate coated rice cakes and corn cakes. Okay, I’m sold.  Surf Sweets

Surf Sweets is great – while these aren’t new, if you see them on the shelf you should get them for your kids (or for yourself and the kid inside of you!) .

TruJoy Sweets is launching these adorable bunny-shaped lollipops for Easter. They are free from gluten, top allergens (including peanut and tree-nut free – great for school).  IMG_5660

Dandies Marshmallows – nothing new to report, just awesome vegan marshmallows!

DSCN0084

Enjoy Life Foods brownie mix. So good. In fact, without Enjoy Life Foods, I would have had a crappy breakfast for three days in a row at the show!

WFFS Treehouse Drinking Chocolate

I’m considering this under the sweets category even though this is drinking chocolate (and technically a beverage). This is their only vegan (dairy-free) flavor out of their other mixes, but it’s delicious and the packaging is beautiful. Plus, Treehouse Chocolate is from Portland! You’ve got to read this guy’s story – it’s bound to be a movie someday.

WFFS Lucy's Brownie Crisps

Love the original Brownie Crisps from Dr. Lucy’s? They have NEW flavors including MINT and SEEDS.Free from 7 of the 8 major food allergens – made without dairy, eggs, or nuts. Really great!

WFFS Jelly Belly Batman

Jelly Belly launched a bunch of new things, including superhero jelly beans, Bean Boozled (the adult version of Harry Potter beans of unusual flavors) and organic jelly beans. But his Batman made of jelly beans was pretty impressive.  WFFS Hail Merry Tarts

I can’t tell you how good these are. All of the sugar-reduced flavors that just launched are some of the best they have – strawberry rhubarb, blueberry acai, and the sweet potato (OMG the sweet potato). These are the best products yet from Hail Merry.

The look on my husband’s face when he saw the gluten-free Pantone. He looked like a kid on Christmas. He is not gluten-free, but our house is, so he hasn’t had any the past few years. Will definitely be looking for this!
