Humanely-Raised Meat Delivery: ButcherBox

I recently received a complimentary ButcherBox to review, and I liked the idea of it so much, I became an affiliate for their program. I’m always looking for humanely-raised meat, and this is a great option delivered right to your door. If you order ButcherBox from my affiliate link, I will get a small payment that will probably go straight to bacon. Bacon money.

So what is ButcherBox?

ButcherBox is a delivery service for meat. It’s $129 for 7-10 lbs of meat, enough for about 15-20 meals. All meat comes frozen packed with dry ice delivered to your door. It’s like having a small town butcher right at your fingertips – order online and it comes packed and ready to defrost for your dinner! Because the meat is just high-quality cuts of meat, it is free from gluten and paleo-friendly.

What makes ButcherBox worth it?

The high quality of the product makes ButcherBox pricing worth it. These meats are selected from small farms that care about their product. ButcherBox uses humanely-raised, 100% grass-fed beef, organic or pastured-raised chicken, and heritage breed pork. This is not your typical grocery store meat department protein. ButcherBox meats are held to a higher standard. And it’s all delivered to your door.

How does ButcherBox work?

Choose from four different types of boxes – MIXED, ALL BEEF, CHICKEN AND PORK or BEEF AND PORK. While ButcherBox is a monthly membership service, you can adjust your frequency to receive a box every other month or every three months, or cancel anytime, or change your box type anytime too! They offer free 2-5 day delivery to the lower 48. You’ll get an eco-friendly shipment packed with dry ice and your meat!

Pork and zoodles + noodles and tomatoes? Okay! Easy lunch option!

Can I customize my ButcherBox?

Yes! I can’t digest beef, so I want my box to be full of poultry or pork. You can also “beef up” (pun intended) your ButcherBox by adding on extra burgers, ground beef, or – my favorite – paleo pork bacon.

Here’s an example of the recent Chicken and Pork box:

  • BACON – 10oz
  • PORK SHOULDER – 1x2lb

I handmade my own applesauce from scratch to pair with this half a pork chop I made myself for dinner!

There are recipes included in each box, but really, just the availability of high-quality meat is pretty awesome. I purchase meat at Whole Foods, where they have GAP certification on their meats, but if you don’t readily have access to meats, or don’t have time, ButcherBox is a great option. Definitely keep ButcherBox in your meal delivery kit arsenal!
