I always search for “gluten free bakeries near me” when I travel. Thankfully, I’ve been able to visit the best gluten-free bakeries on my many adventures across the USA. But everyone always asks me, “but do they ship?” Believe me, I wish that each of these gluten-free bakeries ship – directly into my face. Sadly, it’s really hard to ship gluten-free baked goods. Icing gets smooshed. Cake gets squashed. Cold things arrive hot and hot things arrive cold. Some things need to be shipped with dry ice, and it’s going to cost you rent money to get donuts delivered to your house. Guys, I get it. That’s why I put together a list of the best gluten-free bakeries that do ship across the USA.
Sadly, it seems like every month another gluten-free bakery announces that they are closing. Please, if you are near a gluten-free bakery – visit them regularly. If you find a gluten-free bakery that you like that ships – order often! We’ve got to keep these gems in business.

We have actually visited Mason Dixon Bakery, but have never mail ordered from them. We enjoyed their desserts, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls.
Love it! What do you like the most in the bakery?
My daughter enjoyed the cupcakes and cake pops at Mason Dixon Bakery.
http://www.breadsrsly.com/ (incredible sourdough bread out of San Francisco, CA)
https://mixinitup.org/ (Sauk Rapids, MN)
https://mollysglutenfreebakery.com/ (Pewaukee, WI)
Added! Thank you!
Mason Dixon Bakery is amazing. I go there all the time.
So great! Lynn, what do you normally get that you just LOVE there?
Since Taffet’s in Phila. only ships to places that FedEx will guarantee 48 hr delivery, don’t know if they qualify for your list. http://www.taffets.com/content/shipment-information
I have had amazing cookies from The Happy Mixer!! Also, Sweet Freedom Bakery has the most decadent cupcakes ever!!
Dana’s Bakery in New York City. They make mookies (Macaroon stuffed cookies!!!) They shipped pretty well and can be frozen for months.
https://alliesgfg.com/
they are at least top 8 free, kosher and can make most things vegan for those who need it.
You’re so right! I forgot that they shipped!
I’ve had gf treats from the Happy Mixer in Pa…donuts, cake, muffins, cookies, cupcakes and coming out with bagels soon. Really enjoy everything they offer ❤️ They also offer vegan options. They are a gluten free dedicated facility. Just make sure you save me some ☺️
The G-Free Spot in Hilton Head, SC is sooo good and ships! I’ve had their pumpkin cheesecake, cupcakes, and brookies (brownie + cookie combo) shipped to me and everything has been amazing!!
I ordered cupcakes and cookies from Mason Dixons and had them delivered to my daughter (a student at UAB) for her birthday. She and her friends loved them and I really appreciated the care Mason Dixon took with this mom’s order for her Celiac daughter on her first birthday away from home!
My fave…
https://www.erinmckennasbakery.com
So good! Love Erin McKenna’s Gluten-Free Bakery!
The happy mixer!! They have these little jam filled pastries called kiffles..order a thousand. They have really good crumb cake, donuts, brownies but the best is the red velvet cupcakes and salted caramel cupcakes. So good!
Mason Dixon is amazing! I love their cupcakes! Cloud Nine is sooo yummy. My coworkers love the Fat Elvis cupcake. They have good bread too.
http://www.baking-glutenfree.com/ Based out of Rochester Hills, MI!
Forgot the name! Gluten Free Specialties LLC
We haven’t been yet, but hear great things about Flour Craft Bakery in Mill Valley & San Anselmo, CA. They ship! 🙂
Thank you! Added!

This place is wonderful! I want to visit St. Louis again just to eat here! https://www.newdayglutenfree.com/
https://www.erinmckennasbakery.com
Erin McKennas in LA and NY
Yes! One of my favorites!
Thank you, thank you for this post! I only have access to Sweet Ali’s in the Chicago burbs and I have tried some other places in the past but they left a lot to be desired.
You’re pretty lucky because Sweet Ali’s is great!
This is a fabulous list. Thank you!!
Twist Bakery and Cafe, Gluten Free Gloriously, Dempsey Bakery, Raised GF
Mason Dixon is fabulous! The “Stacey” paleo cupcake is soooo good and the Flourless Chocolate Torte is Nathan’s favorite! I’ve featured this bakery on my blog and we visit every chance we get! They serve breakfast and lunch!!
Wildflour has mail order too! We are a bakery/cafe located in New Jersey. WE are certified gluten-free. https://www.wildflourbakery-cafe.com/mail-orders/
Thank you! Just added!
I love this list!! You’ve got to visit The Happy Mixer in Pennsylvania. I DREAM of their kiffles!! They’re so good! I’m so glad to see that they ship them too! Their pound cakes are also good. And the brownies. They just do a great job!
At Sweet Cake in SLC – I’ve loved pretty much everything, so I’d totally order their bakery treat bundle!!
I definitely want to visit The Happy Mixer!
Love this list!! We have an amazing gluten free nut free bakery here in Fargo ND….yes Fargo! They do not ship tho….but if ever in Fargo check it out…mehls bakery!! They do ship their flour and share recipes online https://mehlsglutenfreebakery.com
I just love Mehl’s!
I’m so glad I found this. I used to live in Wisconsin, and I love Molly‘s gluten-free bakery. Now I live in North Carolina where they don’t have very much gf. I am beyond excited to be able to order stuff from Molly’s! And my family lives in Illinois and I’ve had sweet Ali’s before too. And it is amazing. Being able to get from both of those places has made my day. Thank you!
Gluten Free Things in Arvada, CO also ships! They have great bread (hoagie bread, buns, pita bread) and pancake/waffle mix.
No Label at the Table in Carmel, IN. Not only are their goodies delicious but they employee individuals with special needs ❤️❤️
https://nolabelatthetable.com/order-online/
There’s also Arise Bakery in Arcata, Ca that does awesome sourdoughs, boules, bagels and baguettes! Mariposa carries their bagels! Yum the cinnamon raisin are great!
The Happy Mixer in Chalfont, PA is awesome. Everything is terrific, but I must say that my favorite are the Kiffles!
What a great list! I’d love to add Something Sweet Without Wheat, in Woburn, MA. I love their goodies! They don’t use corn or nuts and they mark the items that are dairy-free and/or egg-free, so those of us with multiple food intolerances can still eat there.
https://www.somethingsweetwithoutwheat.com/
My son and daughter-in-love sent me cookies from https://www.tatesbakeshop.com. They were awesome! My non gluten free husband ate all the chocolate chip cookies! The ginger cookies have little chewy bits of ginger in them.
The Happy Mixer is fantastic! Love the pound cake, donuts, Monkey Bread is my favorite! This bakery has been a lifesaver for my sweet tooth!
The scones at Flour Craft are delicious!
Best thing to order from Gluten Free Specialties in Michigan are the donuts.
Allie’s was a big disappointment. Bagels and baked goods arrived later than expected and everything was hard and dried out. These were a gift and the recipient was very unhappy with the entire shipment.
Wow! That’s unfortunate! Reach out to Allie’s directly and see if you can get a refund, or at least to help them improve their shipping process!
I get things from the Happy mixer every week. They make cakes that my friends who are not GF are willing to eat every thing we have tried is wonderful. Bread is great. I can’t say enough about this bakery. And I can walk to it!
Mason Dixon Bakery is amazing! We live nearby and go all the time. You really can’t go wrong… their brownie crunch is a personal favorite, while my kids love all their cookies and cupcakes. On the savory side their hamburger buns are fabulous!
Flourchylde in Novato, CA. Pumpkin loaf is excellent, and gluten-free as well as dairy-free!
And I second the recommendations for Erin McKenna’s and outstanding sourdough from Bread Sriously!
Any places on the road through West Virginia on the way to DC? I have a work conference in DC, and my husband wants to travel through WVa on the way there. (Thanks for the note about Rise Bakery. Glad to know that’s available at the destination.)
SIGH! I don’t know of ANY in that area!
Gluten Free Specialties in Michigan has AMAZING donuts!!
Celiac Specialties is amazing! Awesome everything, but their donuts are the best!
Gluten-Free Specialties
Rochester Hills, MI
Is awesome, all their stuff is great!
My all time favorite from there is the cinnamon rolls!!!
New Day Gluten Free is AH-MAZing in Clayton, MO. I live here so I have eaten there, never shipped, but all their food and baked goods are delicious!
We tried Sally’s while in Georgia and everything was awesome. They make a nutty sandwich bread that was great! Muffins and cakes. Wish I was able to bring some home.
The Happy Mixer Bakery in Newtown is AMAZING!!! I spend so much money there but it is so worth it! From donuts to cookies to bread items and cakes and cupcakes…everything is so good!!
I haven’t ordered/had shipped anything from Mixin It Up yet, but I’ve been in person and loved their cinnamon bread, donuts, cupcakes, and more.
I also like Dempsey Bakery in Little Rock. I go every time we visit my MIL, and they’ve shipped to me several times. https://www.dempseybakery.com/
The Happy Mixer is DELICIOUS! We loved their Peanut butter delights, cupcakes, creme donuts, breads etc.
Flour Craft in San Anselmo/Mill Valley is my favorite! I love to grab a sweet treat when I visit! They have the best GF Focaccia! My daughter has it shipped to me, occasionally. Makes the best heirloom caprese sandwiches. Mmmm!
Donna Marie’s Gluten Free Bakery in Rochester, NY. She’s got 2 locations and she’s amazing! Cakes, cupcakes, breads, cookies of all kinds. She even sources pastas…like, you can find gf lasagna noodles! But literally the best thing I’ve had is her simple iced sugar cookies (which sell fast so call your order in if possible) closely followed by the even more simple lemon cookies.
Also! I almost forgot about BamBam Bakery in Portland, ME. It’s got a super cute shop, with all sorts of mismatched vintagey furniture. It’s recycling conscious and they have great coffee. But for those of us with a mondo sweet tooth, the treats are the reason for life, here. Literally EVERYTHING is gf and none of it sucks. Try the coffee cake first though! And then get a box of their various cookies (pb with chocolate chunks should def make your list) to go bc as a fellow gluteneer, you know it’s a rare day when you have the world of treats at your feet. Also try the fruit bars and cupcakes and pizza if you’re starting to get a sugar brain. Oh and you can buy loaves of bread too!
http://bambambakery.com/
Just, go there guys.
Do you know of any place where I can order cut out Christmas sugar cookies that are gluten-free that my kids and I can decorate at home?
Annie May’s in Louisville! I get my sugar cookies from her!
Wildflours GF Bakery in Brunswick, ME wildfloursmaine.com
I visit The G-Free Spot every time I am in Hilton Head (at least once a year). Have placed several orders that were shipped. Love this place, everything is amazing. Nicole made us feel very welcome and her customer service is the best.
City Cakes & Cafe in Utah is a 100% Vegan Bakery with lots of Gluten Free options. They ship nationwide.
Gluten Free Sensations and Third Coast Bakery in MI both ship. Everything at Third Coast is also dairy, and most items are egg free.
Free Reign Bakery in Knoxville,
TN. Free of gluten and the top 8 allergens.
I live in Lawrenceville NJ and LOVE Wildflours. I have never had to ship anything but I can tell your their french loaf is so good my non-glueten free friends and family have enjoyed them.
I also love their cheesecakes and German Chocolate cake.
Call them they are sooo helpful.
I’m a big fan of Mason Dixon in Huntsville- have been several times and have ordered from there.
As far as what to order I would recommend- THE BISCUITS!! Both the vegan and regular (buttermilk). They are stellar and worth every penny if you love a good southern biscuit.
Their blueberry muffins- they ship/freeze really well and the blueberries are so abundant and juicy.
The cinnamon rolls are quite good but I usually only get those when I go. They are fine shipped if you have a major craving but not QUITE as good. Unsure how well they would ship outside the southeast.
It you love icing/frosting and super rich sugary desserts you should grab some of their cupcakes. Personally I like cake more than icing so these are a bit TOO sweet and rich for me. But others love them.
Any of their loaves ship fine :). The cinnamon and cranberry will test your self control (in a good way).
ENJOY!
This is an amazing list, but one to add is POSH POP BAKESHOP in NYC!
A great list thank you. Gluten Free Galaxy in Idaho just started shipping and their cinnamon rolls are delicious 😋 with a warm gooey center.
The Good Cookies is my FAV!! I used to live near them and now i get them delivered to GA. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Everything Is GREAT! Love their cookies, almond bars, and donut holes especially. I hate them all way before i was GF too
Gluten free specialties in Rochester Mi is the ONLY place we have found gluten free paczki (think jelly/custard filled donut) some northern states celebrate Fat Tuesday with these treats
The G-Free spot in Hilton Head is amazing! We have tried almost everything they have and everything is delicious! I highly recommend their bakery. You can’t go wrong with anything they have as it’s all the best gluten free goodies I’ve ever had!
I’d like to suggest Third Coast Bakery in Traverse City Mi. Discovered them on vacation. Brought a selection of their cookies and donuts back to the B&B. Didn’t get to try many because my non-celiac friends and family plowed through them. Their bread is good, but I order more of their sweets every time they untie me from the mast. I dream of their cookies, donuts, scones and coffee cakes when deprived of them.
This is a very helpful list thanks! I would add “Vega Vee’ bakery in Nasbville, TN. They do ship and I ate at their bakery summer of 2019 and they were outstanding! Everything we had, moist, sweet but not too sweet. Thanks for doing this.
Vegan Vee I mean
Mason Dixon is SOOOO good. Never had anything bad there. But my absolute favorite that they ship are their biscuits. They are flaky and buttery and you’ll never know they are gluten free! If you ever get to go in person, their cinnamon rolls are to die for! They don’t ship them, though.
I don’t think you have Simple Kneads, in Burlington, NC, on your list. They have a really small product list of a great variety of sourdough bread loaves! https://www.simplekneads.com/
Gluten Free specialties in Rochester, MI is wonderful. They carry a wide variety of items and I have tried their pies, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake and onion rings. Everything was very good.
Ordered from flour craft bakery and the scones were so flakey i almost cried. Fantastic pound cake as well!
https://www.rawmonje.com/
Based in Philadelphia, shipping within the US.
The Happy Mixer is awesome. I live nearby so don’t know how it ships, but def worth a try. My favorites are their sweets. Peanut butter Delight tastes just like a Tastycake! Kiffles are sooo yummy!
Sue- if you’re ever traveling from WVa to Dc again be sure to add The Difference Baker to your route! It’s in Ashburn Va so it’ll be on your way:)
https://thedifferencebaker.com/
Discovered this amazing gf bakery with perhaps the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten in my entire life while visiting R.I. last year. Just looked it up, and surprised to see that they ship. http://www.sansglutenbakery.com/shop/
New Day in St Louis is not a place I would recommend. The quality has significantly declined and is generally a waste of money, unfortunately.
https://thirdcoastbakery.com/ Third Coast Bakery in Traverse City MI! They’re incredible!
Sweet Freedom Bakery in PA has amazing thumbprint cookies!
You missed an amazing one, Third Coast bakery in Traverse City, Michigan. They are not only gluten-free, but vegan, dairy-free, and soy-free as well.
https://thirdcoastbakery.com/
The Happy Mixer has the best strawberry kiffles and chocolate chip muffins!
Happy Mixer is great. My sister used to live nearby so it was wonderful. Someone earlier said the “kiffles”- like pie crust ribbons full of different jams. They are yummy and are gone fast. So are their donuts especially their regular ones with creamy white filling. You have to time it right to get those. Last their lemon pound cake- yum! Lots of good food.
Recommendations for a good dinner roll? This is my husband’s first gluten-free Thanksgiving and I want to surprise him!
The Happy Mixer in PA is my local Gf bakery and you will NOT be disappointed. They are the closest to traditional bakery baked goods I’ve had in my years of being Celiac. They’ve won top recognition in the state, opened two satellite locations, and are now franchising. We get all family birthday cakes there and I love the donuts, cookies, breads, brownies, muffins, and more. On special occasions, they’ve also done monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, soft pretzels, seasonal pies, and bagels.
I used to live in NJ and made a trip to the Happy Mixer a few years back. I was so glad I did. I now live in Idaho. I may need to place an order since I now know they ship
Check out Kyra’s Bake Shop in Portland! 100% Gluten Free bakery and the most amazing (FEMALE OWNED!!) owner EVER. They won Cupcake Wars like 4 times against NON gluten free bakeries….. that really says a lot, in my opinion 🙂
My favs are their cinnamon rolls and cupcakes.
Outside the breadbox
Colorado springs, CO
outsidethebreadbox.com
Ships breads, rolls, bagels and more
Great variety, great price and you get it shipped to you on the US within 2-3 days. Love their vegan oat bread and cinnamon raisin bread
I live near Mason Dixon and the fat elvis cupcake is the best in my point of view. I’m usually a vanilla gal but this is the one case I’ll pick choc over vanilla any day. They can make a case of macarons too with a 72hr heads up, just don’t know how it works regarding shipping. Their Garlic & Herb bread is very good but I only like it when it’s extremely fresh to pay $8/loaf and toast it with butter or dip it in a homemade oil/seasoning mix Italian style! [In my experience their breads go bad fast if left out for more than 2 days and I know most GF breads need refrigeration but I feel that theirs lose their yummy texture and dry out quickly that way unless you only want to use it for toast so I’d hold off until you visit in person or if they can ship it frozen and you fresh bake it at home?). Their orange cranberry scones are great and so are the Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits and Buttermilk biscuits (pro-tip on these: if you get more than 4, there is some discount-I think it’s a 6 or 12 pack? Didn’t know this for years bc it’s not advertised until a store employee informed me! Also, set up an account (free/no credit card or any other affiliates) and link it to your email and card of choice because all your expenditures track and per $100 spent, you get $5 off to use at your convenience w/o expiration!] Haven’t had the Cinnamon rolls but it’s what all the locals I’ve met rave about!
I haven’t been yet but there’s a place near or in Knoxville TN called Benefit Your Life Gluten Free Bakery & Cafe @ 10420 Kingston Pike that’s supposed to be good. I am a super sensitive Celiacs and called ahead to ask and they said all their mixes, etc are certified GF or from fresh ingredients apart from one or two products (applesauce and I forgot the other – maybe honey or something) and those couple ingredients are only in select items. If anyone tries, please share and let us know if you have any reactions! 🙂
HAPPPY MIXER IS THE BEST!! They have the most AMAZING monkey bread!! Sadly it’s only available on holidays so we buy a few and freeze them! Everything there is great – red velvet cupcakes, donuts, and a peanut butter tandy cake. They have vegan options too!
JP’s in Benson, NC is fabulous. It’s worth stopping if you are driving down I-95. They have cakes, cookies, bread, biscuits, and frozen gluten free casseroles. We’ve had nothing but gluten-free goodness each time we stop. Living 4 hours away, we bring a large cooler if we are traveling that way.
Not listed here, but Anna B’s Gluten Free in Midlothian, VA and the Happy Tart in Falls Church, VA are two gluten free bakeries worth visiting. Anna’s has a range of cookies, cakes, brownies, bagels, and breads. The Happy Tart has savory quiches and tarts, a large variety of cupcakes, and pasties.
I’ve had celiac for 10+ years and have been to GF bakeries in many states.
The absolute best GF bakery I’ve ever been to is Dempseys Bakery in Little Rock AR! Honestly better than GF bakeries I’ve been to in Dallas, Chicago, NYC, Portland, LA.
The breads, pizza crusts, cakes, rolls, mixes – honestly everything I’ve had there is stunning!
They are very nice there too, and will pack to deliver.
https://www.dempseybakery.com/
I recommend to anyone in the Northern Va/DC region (and sorta on the way to WV!) The Happy Tart in Falls Church, Va. it’s a dedicated GF facility which makes the most amazing pastries (best eclairs), custom cakes, bread (brioche is fantastic) quiche, pot pies, breakfast, lunch, etc. and they will ship.
https://www.thehappytartfallschurch.com/

I love the Happy Mixer in PA, Petunia’s in Portland, and Bread SRSLY. I am looking forward to ordering from a few of the places you mentioned above. Thanks for doing the research!
I just looked up the Good Cookie in Torrance, CA and they are permanently closed
Have you tried Dempsey’s in Little Rock, AR? It is sooooo yummy! I love their lemon cookies and my husband like the snickerdoodle.
The happy mixer is amazing! We love the lemon pound cake (just like Starbucks but better!!), the jam filled kiffles are SO delicious I could eat them all in one sitting! Red velvet cupcakes! Yum!!!! We got our wedding cake here and it was better than any cake I’ve ever had! No one knew it was gluten free! Love, love, love!!!
HELP!! Does anyone know of any excellent GF Bakeries in Texas that ship? I am mainly interested in Breads.
https://cocobakesla.com/
Santa Monica ,CA
An organic gluten and dairy free baking company.
I have give to something sweet without wheat….. That make a very nice Blondie and wow press… Breads are a little dry and the sugar cookies were cardboard tasting. Their muffins were great!
You’ve got to try Flakely based in Montgomery County, PA! https://www.flakelygf.com/
Happy Mixer is the best and you can’t go wrong with anything! My favorite are the crumb donuts!
Seattle has a fabulous bakery – The Essential Baking Company that offers gluten free products for shipping – bread, bagels, buns & pizza crust! https://essentialbaking.com/gluten-free/
Happy Mixer in PA. AMAZING. Favorite items include kiffles, donuts, cupcakes and sandwich rolls. Also have cookies and pound cake also very good.
Seven Sisters Scones in Johns Creek, GA is AMAZING and they ship!
The chinese buffet in Mechanicsburg has great gluten free options. i like the chicken on a stick as well as the mongolian beef. I also love the bananas with the red syrup that is always near the cold seafood. I sometimes get kicked out because i eat from lunch until the dinner menu comes out which costs more, but if i am already there, they cant do anything. Win.
So if anyone is interested, not alot of gluten in chinese food.
Are you new to gluten free? Maybe you’ve lucked up on a very accommodating Chinese restaurant? Chinese is infamous for being gluten-laden due to soy sauce, so if you’ve found a place with “not a lot of gluten,” bravo.
Looks like Allies GF goodies is permanently closed 🙁
Great list tho I’m Excited to explore
Adding to a few others’ notes on Flour Craft Bakery in Mill Valley and San Anselmo, CA (both north of San Francisco) – the MV one has longer hours and a few more offerings, otherwise, they’re similar.
When you get their various toasts, (such as walnut butter and marmalade, if I recall correctly), you get TWO big pieces of toast with the toppings.
They now have GL waffles too – takes a while, fyi.
My favorite item is their orange polenta cake with a chocolate ganache glaze. Warm it up ever so slightly – too much and the glaze will melt off. I like their scones – just wish they were less skinny.
My sister adores their focaccia. It’s thinner than most, but very good – a lot of oil in it (which I like). She had me bring it to her in Colorado once. The restaurant next door, Creekside, uses it when you order GF bread.
Finally, they make a couple kinds of GF granola. It’s sold for $9 at several stores nearby, but I try to buy mine their so they get all the profit.
You need to go to Rae Raes gluten free bakery in Billings, Montana!! Absolutely phenomenal and they ship 😊
Deja’ Brew in New Oxford, PA! If I lived closer, I’d eat there waaaay too often. Delicious gluten free baked goods and a great selection. Charming space in the center of a small town.
https://dejabrewcb.com/
Benson, NC has a gluten-free paradise called JP’s which I highly recommend if you’re in the area. Sadly, I don’t think they’re shipping right now.
https://www.jpspastry.com/
Where is the best gluten free rosemary bread (that can be shipped) I have had the most intense craving for that for so long now!
