A few local Arizona bloggers recently gathered at Chelsea’s Kitchen in Phoenix, AZ to enjoy a gluten-free meal prepared by one of their knowledgeable chefs. Most of their menu is gluten-free or can be made gluten-free – including a variety of appetizers, salads, and entrees – and of course, drinks.
I’ve gone to Chelsea’s Kitchen too many times to count, as I’m an Arcadia resident myself. In fact, I held my 30th birthday party here because it had vegetarian options on top of gluten-free options – on top of options that would satisfy any foodie’s palette.
I’m going to list a few pictures of our great gluten-free meals during dinner. Needless to say, we were stuffed. Even those that were dairy-free could enjoy options that didn’t have cheese. They’re understanding of food allergies, but also mention that their kitchen is not entirely gluten free – a warning that we’re all used to seeing at restaurants to cover their behinds for liability purposes. However, the chef understood our needs – and it doesn’t hurt that they have a separate fryer that they use just for the chips and fries! 🙂
The Deviled Eggs are my favorite thing in the universe, ever. I could eat 10-12 of these – and the only thing that would stop me could be the thought of having to sit with 10-12 eggs in my gut for the rest of the night. It’s heavy on the mustard – which is how I prefer my eggs. Plus, the bacon on top doesn’t hurt either (although you can get it without the bacon too).
Their signature salads can both be made without cheese – although I have to admit that they are better with the cheese! I feel so good after eating them, the right amount of greens with foodie-esque toppings. You can also grab the kale salad at the sister location – LGO, which offers pre-made salad in their pick-up refrigerator.
We all ordered such different main dishes – although no one ordered my favorite dish, the swordfish tacos. These tacos come with handmade corn tortillas, guac, and a small kale salad. I could eat this every day. Seriously.
A massive thanks to Chandice for organizing this. Also, thanks to my fellow #GFFs in the area – Julia, Chandice (Gluten Free Frenzy), Ken (Rock a Healthy Lifestyle), Alysa (InspiredRD), and Sarah (CanIEatHere.com) for being the best dinner partners ever! I love my Arizona gluten-free friends!
Chelsea’s, I love you. But, by my amount of Yelp and Foursquare check-ins – you probably already knew that by now. Please keep up your pride in serving the gluten-free community!
This is fabulous Erica!! It was such a great night! 🙂
